The Grasmere Gallop 17km Trail Race takes in what is arguably some of the most beautiful landscape in the Lakes. The route initially follows a closed country road before climbing through Deer Bolt woods to join Loughrigg Terrace. You then pass Loughrigg Fell and Rydal Caves, head along a short section of country lane to re join the Lakeland trail and head to Loughrigg Tarn. You return to the village via the jewels of Rydal Water and Grasmere lake.
